We were kindly asked by Modern Ink to do a little ditty for them regarding some vintage trends. Here's a sneak peek.

Vintage Screen Print Collection

Chris and I really love vintage screen prints - especially Marushkas. Here are some from our collection...

There are a few more stored up there in the attic. I would have gotten them down but, as my husband can confirm, I don't go up there.

Instant Collections RULE!

Especially when they're Cathrineholm / enamelware instant collections that have been gifted to you by your best friend/business partner. Erin rendered me completely speechless at my bridal shower when I opened one of her houndstooth-wrapped (best wrapping paper ever) gift boxes and found the entire thing full of insanely awesome vintage enamelware. Tears of joy came to my eyes. I looked across the room at my fiance and he, too, was wide-eyed and stunned.

I mean, really? Does it get any better than that? Chris and I have yet to find the perfect location for these so for now they're displayed in the bay window of our dining room. They look great there but they need their own home.

Even Henry approves of the collection.

salvaged: refrigerator

What is it? General Electric refrigerator

When is it from? 1940's

Condition? It runs, but it needs coolant. Contains all of the original accessories (drawers, ice tray, etc). The rubber stripping needs to be replaced and there are outer areas of rust.

For Sale? yessir

How much? $100

Anything Else? Had we not shown up to rescue this beauty, it would have ended up in a dumpster.

What is it?   IBM electric typewriter

What year?     based on our research, we believe it to be a 1954

For sale?      you bet

How much? $30

Condition? In good working condition. The ribbon has been replaced, however a few letters type more faintly than others. Aesthetically, there are a few scrapes and smudges which you can see in the top photo.

Anything else? this mother is heav-y, but sounds really awesome while it's running.

Treasury: The Colorful Enamel Edition

Etsy treasuries are a great way to not only help promote the shops of some very worthy vintage sellers, but they're also a fantastic way to get interested in different colors, shapes, themes, textures, prints and even ideas. Sometimes it takes about 10 minutes to come up with a treasury idea and sometimes it takes days. And even after the idea strikes...it can take an obnoxious amount of time to find the perfect pieces to feature.

Enamel Cooking Pot

About one month ago, we put together a treasury featuring colorful enamel. Seeing all the amazing pieces still makes our mouths water. Its like perfect, colorfully wrapped vintage candy...but better because they're guilt-free if you allow yourself to indulge. Take some time to admire each piece for its craftsmanship, design and color. For us, each item is a blaring reminder that vintage is certainly better.
